In order to hold true to hth companies’ vision of creating an environment where employees are encouraged to develop their full potential, we encourage personnel to take advantage of numerous training and development opportunities. hth recognizes that our approach might not be traditional in the construction service industry but we see that as an advantage.
hth companies has developed a skill block program focusing on practical hands on training and field verification. The program is administered in the field breaking up specific tasks within trades allowing for field supervision to verify knowledge of craftsman. Once required blocks are completed, the craftsman is eligible to demonstrate the learned skills on a controlled test demonstrating safety, knowledge, quality, and efficiency.
Personnel also have an opportunity to gain additional knowledge through 3rd party training provided by hth companies. Examples include OSHA training courses, competent scaffold builder, rescue tech, aerial work platforms, rigging, crane, and CDL certifications, pump set up and flow, and much more.
Each year, hth companies provides two management level training retreats for our Superintendents and Foremen. These two-day trainings focus on safety, soft skills, leadership, employee practices, teambuilding, customer interaction, and company objectives.
Opportunities are also presented for Covey and Dale Carnegie Leadership classes and approved trade & university classes such as project management or general management courses.
Upon approval, hth companies offers courses in both English and Spanish as a second language. Classes are administered through several 3rd party providers and personnel are reimbursed for the cost upon successful completion of the course.
hth companies offers a rotational development program (RDP), and paid internships in estimating and field operations.
